Muktsar, April 17

The police today claimed to have arrested an accomplice of Canada-based gangster Sukha Duneke along with a .30 bore illegal pistol and three live cartridges.

The police claimed the accused, Varinder Singh, of Madhir village here was working as security guard of Khushwinder Singh of Khirkianwala village here.

They claimed Khushwinder and Avtar Singh Aulakh of Rupana village were the accomplices of Duneke and collected extortion money from people, while Varinder used to conduct recce. A police spokesperson said the accused had committed crimes in Punjab and Rajasthan. A case under Sections 387, 506, 212 and 216 of the IPC, and 25, 27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act had been registered against them at Kotbhai police station. —
