KCW girls shine in PU exams

Talwinder Kaur, a student of KCW, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, bagged first position in MA History III semester exmas conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh. She secured 80 per cent marks and Sandeep Kaur secured Vth position with 76.5% marks. The management, and the principal of the college, Mukti Gill, congratulated the students and the department of history for this achievement.

'AIDS Awareness' seminar held at GGNIMT

The NSS wing of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT), Civil lines, and Red Ribbon Club organised 'AIDS Awareness Day' to spread awareness about AIDS among the youth here today. Jagmeet Singh, Asst. Prof, GGNIMT, introduced the theme and elaborated history and causes of AIDS. He also elaborated signs and symptoms of the disease and some prevention mechanism of AIDS. He explained the importance of the day. Principal P S Khattra welcomed the students to the session. He said awareness is the right way to tackle this disease. Gurpreet Singh Bhatia, a student of BCA IV semester, discussed the cause of human immunodeficiency virus infection and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS). He informed human immune deficiency virus left untreated then can lead to the disease AIDS. Talking about the causes of the HIV he said one can get the HIV from contact with infected blood, semen, or vaginal fluids

GGN College celebrates Shakespeare Day

The Shakespeare Day was celebrated at the PG Department of English, Guru Nanak Khalsa College,Civil Lines, Ludhiana today. An extension lecture was delivered by the guest speaker of the event Professor Sumedha Bhandari of PAU, Ludhiana. Prof LS Bedi, Head of the Department, welcomed the chief guest and introduced the theme of the event. He said that Shakespeare was a visionary whose philosophy has remained relevant during all the ages. Professor Sumedha dwelt on Shakespeare's life perfectly and discussed his contribution in English. — TNS
