CHANDIGARH: Acting on a tip-off by the Punjab Police, Uttar Pradesh cops have arrested two Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operatives.

Acting on a tip-off by the Punjab Police, Uttar Pradesh cops have arrested two Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operatives. The duo was allegedly involved in a series of targeted killings, an official press release said here today.

Jaswant Singh alias Kala, a resident of Sonewala village in Muktsar district, was nabbed near Bhalla farm house in Sora Mau village of Unnao district (UP). Baba Babwant Singh, a resident of Naushera Pannuan in Tarn Taran district, was held last night from the old city area of Lucknow.

Kala has been identified as a close aide of Jagtar Singh Hawara, former BKI chief. As per a Punjab Police spokesperson, Kala plotted the killings of Gurdev Singh, a Dera Sacha Sauda follower, at Burj Jawahar Singh Wala village (Faridkot) on June 13 last year, and Baba Lakha Singh, a controversial preacher from Hanumangarh district (Rajasthan), on November 23, 2016. — TNS
