Jalandhar, April 12

Peeved at being ignored by the Congress over his demand for review of ticket for the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat, former Jalandhar MP Mohinder Singh Kaypee has come up with the idea of floating a “Taksali Congress front”.

Kaypee, who has been in the national Capital for the last few days and is to return to Jalandhar tomorrow, said, “I and some veteran Dalit leaders of the party, who are being sidelined for a long time, have convened a meeting in Chandigarh on April 15. I am expecting Rajya Sabha MP Shamsher Singh Dullo, former ministers Santosh Chaudhary (who has been seeking Hoshiarpur ticket) and Malkiat Singh Dakha and former MLA Chaudhary Tirlochan Singh at the meeting, though invites are being sent across to many.”

Asked what could be the likely course of action, former PPCC chief Kaypee said, “The senior leaders will decide this. In any case, it will be a historic meeting but I can’t say anything before the meeting. The party has not taken the opinion of Dalit leadership before announcing ticket and ignored even the main castes among the Dalits.” His supporters said a meeting at his Jalandhar residence, too, had been planned tomorrow upon his return.

Kaypee alleged that the party was only promoting the rich and those “jumping” from outside. “The sincere workers and the families who are terrorism affected have no longer any place here. Let me collect some evidences for paid ticket too, I will surely bring it in the open,” he said.
