A three-year-old boy was burnt alive while his parents were suffered burn injuries in a fire at their home at Dhabota village in Nalagarh around 11 pm yesterday.

According to information, the fire started from the candle on the refrigerator and spread quickly, giving the family no time to escape. The incident happened when the power connection to their house was snapped due to the non-payment of bills.

Other family members, who were sleeping in the another room, escaped unhurt.

“The victim’s father, Satnam, has been referred to PGI-Chandigarh, while his mother Puja has been admitted to a local hospital. She sustained burn injuries on her face,” said a village resident. He added that the family lost all their belongings in the fire and urged people to help the family.
