Delivery boy concocts loot story, held

Ludhiana, January 20

A resident of Jalandhar Bypass, who works as a delivery boy with the local office of Amazon, near ITI, on Gill Road, has been arrested by the Shimlapuri police under sections 406/420 of the IPC for fraud and cheating.

As per a complaint lodged by Dharamjit Singh, a representative of the company, Arjun Singh had failed to deposit cash collected on January 17 and concocted a story that unidentified persons had snatched Rs 35,000 from him.

The police said during preliminary interrogation, Arjun confessed having concocted the loot story. The police recovered Rs 27,000 from him.
