Lt. Governor Anil Baijal, who is also the chairperson of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) today reviewed the functioning of Planning Wing of the authority and asserted that planning exercises should be enabling instruments for planned development of Delhi.

Baijal exhorted the DDA to develop social infrastructure such as sports facilities, green areas, biodiversity parks, flyovers, etc., to assist in the decongestion plans for Delhi.

The theme-based meeting at Raj Niwas was attended by DDA vice-chairman, DDA engineer member Pr. Commissioner (Land Disposal), Pr. Commissioner (Land Management), Commissioner (Planning), DDA, HoDs of DDA and officers of the Lt. Governor’s Secretariat.

After detailed presentation by DDA officials, Baijal said provision of services and social infrastructure must be invariably incorporated while making plans for redevelopment of areas.

The Lt. Governor noted that since the Master Plan has to be a dynamic instrument, a review of the provisions of civic amenities as per the estimated increase in the population should be undertaken.
