Students of Government College, Nagrota Surian, celebrated tree plantation festival on the new college campus. Saplings of medicinal and ornamental plants were planted by the students along with college principal.



Students of Government College, Nagrota Surian, celebrated tree plantation festival on the new college campus. Saplings of medicinal and ornamental plants were planted by the students along with college principal. In-charge, NSS unit, Prof Nishant addressed the students and educated them about environment protection, community development and role of plantation in conservation of environment.  The students also removed wild growth around the college.

Art and craft exhibition

Creativity of students was at display during the art and craft exhibition of classes nursery to XII at the Auckland House School for Boys. Mayor Kusum Sardet was the chief guest. Nursery students used waste material like plastic bottles, flower vase, match boxes, while the junior section put to use photo frames, key rings, piggy bank, hand puppet, mask, ice-cream sticks, foot mats and stone. Senior classes showcased their artistic skills by making a variety of models and charts on electric circuit, solar and lunar eclipse, photosynthesis. Ishan Malhotra presented a drama piece for Lord Voldemort’s last stand (Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollow). Mayor paintings, nature paintings, sequin work and zari paintings were also a part of the exhibition.     

Literary conclave at Army school

An inter-house literary conclave, encompassing a large number of activities like a book fair, debates, quiz, essay writing, open air theatre play, calligraphy, creative writing and poetry, was held at Army Public School, Dagshai. It was inaugurated by principal Dr SK Mishra. Ajit Narayan, a renowned cartoonist and an author, conducted a seminar for the budding artists. Students delivered speeches on various literary figures like Macbeth, Mark Antony, Santiago of Alchemist and many more. The book “The Invisible Man” written by HG Wells was reviewed by the students. A wall magazine on “Man versus Nature Sustainable Development” was also held.
