Ludhiana, December 6

In the kidnap and loot case in which a married woman was allegedly abducted from Kailash Nagar Road and then abandoned on Rahon Road on Wednesday night, the police suspect the victim knew her kidnappers.

The police suspected that the woman knew the kidnappers due to which they freed her within 20 minutes of kidnapping.

Although the police have registered a kidnap case against four bike-borne persons, they have not ruled out the woman’s involvement.

On Wednesday night, the woman, along with her husband Alam, kid and two relatives, was heading towards railway station to board a train to Bihar. Four persons on two motorcycles arrived there. They first snatched a mobile phone and cash from her husband, and then took her along on their motorcycle. On Rahon Road, they asked the woman to hand over whatever cash or valuables she had. When they could find any, they abandoned her there.

Additional DCP Gurpreet Singh Sikand said they suspected something fishy as the kidnappers did not inflict any injury to the woman and she was also not sexually assaulted. While the woman had gone to Bihar, the police are working on various theories to crack the case.
