Fatehgarh Sahib, Nov 28
Sirhind Councillor Jaswinder Kaur today resigned from SAD and joined the Congress. She was inducted into the party by MLA Kuljit Singh Nagra.
The strength of Congress councillors in the Sirhind Municipal Council has now gone up to 20.
Nagra said Jaswinder would be given due respect in the party and she would ensure overall development of the town without any prejudice or vendetta. He called upon all the councillors to rise above the party politics for the interest of the town and to speed up development projects in their respective wards.
Jaswinder said she was impressed by the development agenda of MLA Kuljit Nagra and decided to join the Congress to support him. — TNS
