Chandigarh, December 23

The state government approved an amount of Rs 1.95 crore for research projects of 12 scientists of the state’s educational and research institutions for 2021-22.

Dr Ashok Khemka, Principal Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, said that to improve the socio-economic standard of the general masses and solve their day to day problems, the Haryana State Council for Science, Innovation and Technology, is implementing Research and Development scheme. Under this scheme, an amount of up to Rs 20 lakh is sanctioned to each scientist for a maximum period of three years.

This time, Dr Hari Mohan and Dr Darshana Chaudhary, both assistant professors of Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, and Dr Manoj Kumar and Dr Swati Dahiya and Dr Sushila Maan, all from Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Science, Hisar, were chosen. Along with them, Dr Sunita Dalal, associate professor, Kurukshetra University, Dr Rajan, assistant professor, MMU University, Mullana, and Dr Anurag Gaur, Dr Rashi Gupta, Dr Sanjeev Goyal and Dr Ravi Kumar, all from JC Bose University of Science and Technology, Faridabad, and Dr Sangeeta Kamboj, assistant professor, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, are the selected researchers.

On Chief Secretary’s order, dated November 8, all Administrative Secretaries were to get a gunman. The order was issued in view of farmers’ protest. However, IAS Ashok Khemka refused the services of gunman citing that the gunman should be deployed to protect ordinary citizens.
