Tribune News Service

Ludhiana, February 19

A joint team of the police and Election Department raided a house at Kucha No. 8, Field Ganj, and seized huge stock of ration.

The area falls in the Ludhiana Central constituency.

The police seized the entire stock and launched further investigation. The police were yet to find who kept the stock for distribution to voters.

Satpal, Station House Officer (SHO), Division Number 2 police station, said after receiving the complaint, immediate raid was conducted in a locked house from where stock of ration was recovered. The SHO said the police would investigate whether the stock was kept by some leader or other person.

Sources said the house belonged to some trader and nobody was living in the house.

After getting information, workers of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) reached the spot. They alleged that the ration belonged to some political party, which kept the same to woo voters. They demanded registration of a case after holding an investigation.
