Youth objects to peeing in the open at Dhanas, killed

A 26-year-old youth was murdered while his friend was seriously injured after they objected to youths who were urinating in the open at EWS Colony, Dhanas, on Wednesday night.

The victim, Kuldeep, alias Luv Kush, along with his two friends, both named Vijay, were having ice cream when three persons arrived at the spot and started urinating in the open. Kuldeep objected to it that led to an altercation between the two groups.

Vijay, who escaped with a minor injury, said the assailants first attacked them with a helmet and then they pulled out sharp weapons, which they were carrying with them. “Both Kuldeep and Vijay were attacked with sharp weapons, leaving them bleeding profusely.

Kuldeep was attacked thrice on the chest and near the shoulder, which turned fatal for him. Vijay was also attacked with sharp weapons, leading to grave injuries.

The assailants, who were triple-riding a bike, fled the spot after the incident.

The police were informed, who rushed to the spot. Both Kuldeep and Vijay were rushed to the GMSH, Sector 16, in a private vehicle, where doctors declared Kuldeep brought dead, while Vijay was referred to the PGI.

Kuldeep’s cousin Sandeep said two of the assailants had been identified as Rahul and Gulshan, residents of Dhanas. Sandeep said they wanted the accused to be arrested immediately.

Kuldeep was the youngest among his siblings — three brothers and a sister. He was married and is survived by his wife and a daughter, who is yet to turn one. The victim was into the business of selling battery-operated lights.

The police have registered a murder case against the assailants at the Sarangpur police station. The police said efforts were being made to nab the accused.
