Man booked for rape after he accuses woman, three others of abduction

MOHALI/ KHARAR: A Shahi Majra resident, Manoj Kumar, was booked for raping a 31-year-old woman after he filed a complaint of abduction and robbery against her and three others.

A Shahi Majra resident, Manoj Kumar, was booked for raping a 31-year-old woman after he filed a complaint of abduction and robbery against her and three others. Manoj Kumar had submitted a complaint in Ghauran after which the police registered a case under Sections 392, 388, 365, 394, 323, 506 and 120 of the IPC against Gurpreet Singh, Jaspal Singh, the woman and an unknown person.

Manoj told the police that he worked as a security service provider and on June 14, the woman came to his office, seeking employment.

After an interview, she told the complainant that she was a divorcee and lived with her aunt. Then she asked the complainant to drop her at Kharar in his car. Later, she asked him to go to a dhaba on the Kharar-Morinda road. When they ordered tea at the dhaba on the Kharar-Morinda road, three young boys came there in a Bolero car.

Seeing them, the woman said that her brothers Gurpreet Singh and Jaspal Singh had come and she had to go with them. The three boys then thrashed him. He was allegedly taken to Morinda. His debit/credit cards and Rs 60,000 in cash, which was lying in his car, were snatched by them. Then they allegedly withdrew some cash from an ATM in Morinda and used his debit card for purchasing goods from Morinda. Later, he was taken to the Kharar side and was dropped in Kharar.
