House panel reviews working of GMC

JAMMU: A meeting of the Joint House Committee of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council reviewed the functioning of Government Medical College, Jammu, and associated hospitals.

Jammu, April 21

A meeting of the Joint House Committee of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council reviewed the functioning of Government Medical College, Jammu, and associated hospitals. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Member Legislative Council Ghulam Nabi Monga.

The committee observed that the sanitation and other healthcare issues should be addressed immediately and asked for action to be taken up in this regard.

It was decided that the committee would visit Government Medical College, Super Specialty Hospital and SMGS Hospital to take stock of the healthcare infrastructure and other facilities in these institutions.

Legislators Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Shehnaz Ganai, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Vikram Randhawa and Charanjeet Singh attended the meeting and gave their suggestions for further improving healthcare facilities in these institutions.

Among others, Special Secretary Mohammad Ashraf Wani; Deputy Secretary Ali Mohammad Rawat besides officials also attended the meeting.
