Felicitating teachers and asking them to act as role models, Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal said they should assist students in evolving as integrated personalities, so that they can shoulder responsibilities.

Manpreet was in the city on Sunday to attend an event as a key note speaker at BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar. The event kicked off with the lighting of the lamp. Students and teachers together came up with a group song followed by snippets from the life of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Rich tributes were paid to the great academic philosopher and one of the most well-known diplomats, scholar, second President of India and above all a teacher

Manpreet while felicitating teachers described them as encouraging, motivational and inspirational.

"Teachers are a reason to enrich quality education system in the country and process it continuously without getting tired," he said.

Principal Dr Paramjit Kaur urged teachers to realise their responsibility towards building an ideal society. She encouraged teachers to become curious learners and individuals with strong personalities and patience, apart from being the possessor of vast knowledge to mentor students with the purest intention of seeing them spread their wings.

A cultural show consisting of Indian and Western dances, songs and bhangra left audience awestruck. School manager Capt VK Sayal proposed the vote of thanks.
