Gambling Houses for Women.

Our Sialkot correspondent points out that there are gambling houses notably for men, but also gambling houses for women in that town. Whether this serious weakness is largely prevalent or has just commended, is not stated, but we hope the authorities will do something to put a stop to this tendency. The other day a Bombay paper published an account of a meeting by Hindu ladies of that city in the Girls' High School to protest against the practice of gambling indulged in by certain women. The fact that ladies of distinguished families took part in the meeting shows that the matter is not a trifling one. It was stated by one speaker that Bhatia ladies were addicted to this vice more than ladies of any other communities. Another lady regretted that the month of Shravan was spent by some women in this unholy pursuit.
