Professor Adarsh Pal Vig, chairman of Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB), while speaking at PAU Live programme, called upon farmers to shun the practice of stubble burning as it affects health of people as well as the environment.
Lauding Punjab Agricultural University’s efforts in developing technologies for crop residue management, he advised farmers to adopt in-situ and ex-situ technologies.
Dr GS Kocher, head of Department of Microbiology, informed farmers about the recommended biofertilisers for various crops as well as their availability.
Dr Amarjit Singh, senior extension specialist (plant pathology), dwelt upon disease management in paddy.
