Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, along with Bathinda IGP MF Farooqui, on Sunday launched the de-addiction campaign of the Bathinda range police by releasing a hoarding at the Congress rally at Killianwali in the Lambi Assembly segment in Muktsar district.

Farooqui told The Tribune that the police had got made nearly one lakh posters and hoardings, which would be installed at educational institutes in three districts – Muktsar, Bathinda and Mansa.

“These posters and hoardings will have the contact numbers of SSPs concerned and some other policemen. If someone would give any information related to the drugs, it would be kept secret and action will be taken against the accused. It will help to catch people involved in this illegal activity,” said the IGP, while speaking on the sidelines of the rally.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also appealed to the people to co-operate with the police in wiping out drugs from the state.

He said the special task force (STF) formed by the Congress government to curb drugs had done a wonderful job. — TNS
