As India burns Raavan on Dussehra today, here are a few evils the celebs would like to eliminate from their life

On the auspicious occasion of Dasehra, celebs talk about the evil that they wish to eliminate from society and one thing that they want to get rid of on the personal front. They also open up on the recent trend of celebrating evil in shows and movies. Read on:

Address unemployment: Jasmine Bhasin

I want to give up the habit of taking people at face value. I trust people easily and I have no filters. I should be a little more self-controlled in that regard. As far as society is concerned, unemployment has become a major issue post pandemic. Something must be done to address unemployment. Films and web shows do glorify certain negative characters but then it is a make-believe world.

Make women safe: Asheema Vardaan

On the personal level the biggest evil I have is my sugar intake. I have a sweet tooth, so this Dasehra I would definitely cut it down. In society I feel the evil is that women do not feel safe even in their own house. Talking about content, I honestly feel that it’s a debatable topic. Makers should know their obligation towards society because people do get influenced by what they see.

Down with bullies: Tanushree Dutta

I’ve sometimes had problem dealing with people due to my soft nature. So, on a personal level, I wish all the obnoxious bullies start getting their comeuppance. In society too I see that pleasantness, kindness and generosity are considered weaknesses. This needs to change.

Time management: Mrunal Jain

I often end up not returning the calls of my loved ones. I return all professional calls but personal calls I forget to return. I want to improve my time management. Evil exists everywhere and that is a reality. The storyline of films and web series vary and it is a make-believe world, so we shouldn’t judge. What we see on screen, we shouldn’t imitate or get influenced.

Go Corona Go: Mugdha Godse

I would want the pandemic to end. It has taken so many lives. My prayers for it to be taken away. Talking about celebrating evil on screen, I believe they are not celebrated. They are portrayed in a way for entertainment purposes. That’s a perspective on the evil characters and their side of the story. There are black/white/grey characters, so audiences have to be mindful of what to pick.

Fear no more: Himanshu Malhotra

I think the evil that we should definitely try to eliminate from society is fear. Since fear is very enticing and thrilling, that’s one of the reasons why people watch horror films. They all want to feel the intensity of that emotion. So that’s also one of the reasons why negative characters are glorified. It’s my personal opinion.
