Faridabad, October 18

Anil Goel (60), chairman of real estate company Piyush Group, died of heart attack when he was produced in a local court in connection with a case of cheating filed against him.

Goel had been in judicial custody since his arrest in April.

A case had been registered against him in response to 28 complaints lodged with the police. It had been alleged that the accused had failed to deliver the flats or return the money paid by investors in a building project here several years ago.

Goel, who was produced in one of the courtrooms, was being taken to another court when he suffered heart attack.

According to police officials, he fell down complaining of acute pain in his heart. As he was rushed to the civil hospital, the doctors attending to him declared him dead. — TNS
