Rohtak, February 28

The demonstration being staged by farmers at Titoli village in Rohtak district is gaining momentum, with khaps backing the protesters and farmers of different villages arriving at the dharna site in cavalcades of tractors.

While the Kundu Khap is spearheading the protest at Titoli village, leaders and representatives of other khaps have also extended proactive support to the stir.

The dharna committee and khap leaders have decided to send their emissaries to different villages in order to mobilise support for the ongoing agitation.

“Our resolve is firm and the dharna will continue till our demands are met. The future course of action will be decided by our central committee,” said Ombir Kundu, a farmer.

Satyawan, Rakesh, Surender Dalal and other protesting farmers also asserted that they would not budge till the provision of MSP is ensured and the other demands agreed upon by the government after the last agitation are actually met.

Meanwhile, police personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order.
