Kurukshetra: The closing ceremony of a seven-day NSS camp at Markanda National College, Shahabad, concluded with cultural activities under the guidance of NSS programme officer Siddhant. Principal Ashok Kumar lauded the efforts of the NSS unit and inspired the volunteers to promote brotherhood in society. He also cautioned the volunteers to be vigilant of the epidemic Covid and spread awareness on it among the masses. Sartaj Singh and Kanchan were declared the best NSS volunteers. Total 50 volunteers participated in the camp and got benefited of it.

MBA entrance exam on April 5

Faridabad: The JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, has decided to conduct the state-level entrance test for admission to Master of Business Administration (MBA) course for the academic session 2020-21 on April 5. The university has invited online applications for the same. The last date of submission of application form is March 30. Online applications can be submitted through the university website: www.jcboseust.ac.in. The university offers two MBA programmes having an intake of 60 seats each of which one is with specialisation in financial management, HR management and marketing management and the other is with specialisation in retail management, financial management, international business management, and marketing management.

Varsity to promote ‘Beti bachao...’

Hisar: An academic council meet was held at the CCS Haryana Agricultural University in the presence of Vice Chancellor KP Singh. During the discussion, the authorities recommended the promotion of the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign of the Government of India. The university also announced a policy for reservation of seats for single girl child. In addition to the policy, three new colleges will come under the ambit of the university campus which will be fully functional by the end of the year. With this, the university will have a total of nine running colleges, including two outstations colleges. The admission process will start this year.

20 students qualify GATE-2020

Hisar: As many as 20 students of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, have qualified the GATE-2020 examination. Prof Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor and Prof Harbhajan Bansal, Registrar of the university, congratulated the students. Partap Singh, Director, Placements, said the exam was conducted on February 1, 2, 8 and 9 in around 199 test cities across India and abroad. The result was announced on March 13. The pass percentage of GATE-2020 examination was a mere 18.8 per cent wherein 1,28,797 candidates have been declared qualified. He said the scores were valid for three years from the date of announcement of the results.

Krishi Mela postponed

Hisar: The Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University has postponed the Krishi Mela for kharif crops, which was to be held on March 22 and 23 on the university campus. Vice Chancellor KP Singh said they had taken the decision in view of an advisory from the Centre and further schedule of the Krishi Mela would be issued later.
