Ludhiana: A 25-year-old boy has gone missing under mysterious circumstances. Boy’s father Roshan Lal told the police that on August 8, his son Darshak Lal had left home without informing anything to the family and did not return. He suspected that his son could have been kept under wrongful confinement by some unknown persons. After registering a case, the police launched further probe. TNS

Man held with illicit liquor

Ludhiana: The Daresi police have nabbed a peddler and recovered 11 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession. The suspect has been identified as Parmod Kumar of New Shimlapuri. The investigation officer, ASI Jaspal Singh, said Parmod was into the illegal trade of selling liquor. He had kept stock of liquor at his home, the ASI added. Accordingly, a raid was conducted at his house and illegal liquor recovered, the ASI said. “A case under Excise Act has been registered against the accused,” the ASI added. TNS

3 booked for stealing scooter

Ludhiana: The Jagraon police have registered a case of vehicle theft against three persons. The suspects have been identified as Shekhar, alias Ravi, Sukhwinder Singh and Mani. Complainant Naveen Kumar told the police that he had parked his scooter outside his shop, which was stolen by the three suspect. After receiving a complaint, the police registered a theft case against the three suspects under Section 379 of the IPC. “Efforts are on to nab the suspects,” the police said. TNS
