The annual sports festival at Jarkhar will be held from December 17 to 19.
It was announced after a meeting of the Mata Sahib Kaur Sports Charitable Trust, chaired by its chairman Narinder Pal Singh Sidhu, at a hotel here on Monday.
Sidhu said this years’ festival would be dedicated to farmers who had been protesting since a long time against the three new farm laws.
“The 35th edition of the festival, popularly known as the Modern Rural Mini Olympics’’, would be held in December during which the main attraction would be hockey and kabaddi competitions. Boxing would also be a part of this year’s festival,” he said.
Jagroop Singh Grewal, chief organiser, Pritam Singh Grewal, former Mayor, Hounslow (UK), advocate Harkam Singh, president, inspector Balbir Singh, Nirmal Singh Nimma (Dehlon), Sahibjit Singh Jarkhar, Tejinder Singh Jarkhar, Gursatinder Singh Pargat, Taran Jodhan, Rana Jodhan and Yadwinder Singh Toor were among others who attended the meeting.
The next meeting of the Trust would be convened shortly, Sidhu said.
