The Good News.

THE pealing of the cathedral bells shortly after nine, on Monday night announced to the residents of Lahore that the momentous news so eagerly awaited throughout the day had arrived, that Germany had accepted the terms handed over to its delegates as the conditions of an armistice. An hour later, the booming of guns from the Lahore Fort confirmed the joyful tidings and left no doubt about the matter, carrying them to the furthest corners of the municipal area. In the meantime the railway station authorities had not lagged behind and the firing of fog signals under the engines of incoming trains and the shouting of the sirens proclaimed to all within the range of their sound the glorious triumph of the British Empire and the Allied countries.
