AMRITSAR: As many as 610 volunteers donated blood at a camp organised at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhavan, Khankot, near here on Wednesday.

As many as 610 volunteers donated blood at a camp organised at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhavan, Khankot, near here on Wednesday.

Enthusiastic people from all walks of life came to donate blood, said the organisers. Blood bank teams from Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, Jallianbwala Bagh Martyrs Memorial Civil Hospital and Adlakha Blood Centre facilitated the event.

The organisers said that from 1986 to 2019, the Nirankari Mission has donated 10,36,560 units of blood, saving over 3.10 million lives. They stated that 81 blood donation camps were organised throughout the nation. Apart from Delhi, 16 in Maharashtra, 11 in UP, six each in Punjab, Rajasthan and MP, five in Haryana, four each in Gujarat, Bihar and HP, three each in Uttarakhand, Jharkhand and West Bengal, two each in Jammu Kashmir and Orrisa and one each in Chandigarh, Chhatisghar, Goa, Assam, Karnataka, Kerela ,Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pardesh were organised.
