Cops take to performance to sensitise youth to drugs

The district police have taken a novel step to spread awareness against drugs by holding an entertainment show on stage at the Maghi Mela ground along the Malout road here.

Some policemen and artistes sang some songs to enthral the public and give a message to stay away from drugs.

Muktsar SSP Manjit Singh Dhesi said it was an easy way to convey a message to the youths.

“We have deployed some policemen for this purpose and people are appreciating it. Besides, our teams are visiting villages, holdings seminars at educational institutes as well,” he said.

The police have also put up traffic sign boards at the mela ground to spread awareness among people.
