The ongoing tussle between the bar association and the Police Department over the alleged beating up of advocate Lucky Jindal by ASI Darshan Singh at the women’s police station came to an end after both parties reached a compromise today at the District Courts Complex.

The advocates had been on a strike for the past two days. They have been demanding registration of a case against the accused ASI.

This afternoon, a meeting headed by District Bar Association president Ranjit Singh Jalal was held at the bar room.

Darshan Singh was accompanied by SP (H) Bhupinder Singh and Civil Lines police station SHO Kuldeep Singh Bhullar.

Ranjit Singh Jalal, quoting good relationship between the police and advocates, assured that they would cooperate with the police in future.

SSP Naveen Singla said the matter was sorted out during the joint meeting between advocates and police officials. He appreciated the role of the bar association for co-operating with them.

Bar association secretary Rohit Romana said as the issue had been resolved, the bar would resume work from tomorrow.

The bar association appreciated the role of IGP Mukhwinder Singh Chinna and SP (H) Bhupinder Singh in resolving the issue.
