To curb the menace of stray cattle on the premises of Civil Hospital, the hospital authorities through various correspondences with Max Hospital had installed an animal catcher on the entrance gate of Max Hospital a few months ago. But now, the Max hospital authorities have removed it for reasons best known to them.

An employee of the Civil Hospital, pleading anonymity, said, “Since the animal catcher has been removed from the entrance gate of Max Hospital, a number of stray cattle enter the premises of the Civil Hospital. The presence of stray cattle is posing a serious threat to the lives of patients visiting the hospital.”

He further stated that they had tried to convince the Max hospital authorities not to remove the animal catcher from the gate, but in vain.

When contacted, Sukhjinder Singh Gill, SMO, Civil Hospital, said, “We do not understand their behaviour at all. Before removing the animal catcher from the common entrance gate of the hospitals, the Max hospital authorities have to take their permission as well but they did not bother about this.”

He further stated that they had sent a letter to the Max authorities to again install the animal catcher there.

“I will personally talk to their officials and resolve the menace of entering stray cattle on the premises of the civil hospital”, he added.

Sunil Mehta, general manager of the Max hospital said they had intimated their officials before removing the animal catcher from the entrance gate.

Mehta said, “The animal catcher gets deform due to the movement of heavy vehicles. As a result it started causing problems to the personal vehicles. Due to which we have removed the animal catcher.”

He further stated that civil hospital authorities have to open their entrance gate located near class IV employees’ residential houses. So that the animal catcher would not get deform.

“We will again install animal catcher at the entrance gate of the Max hospital within a month”, he added.
