DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, defeated Sector 16 Cricket Stadium by 32 runs to enter the final of the inaugural GS Banga Memorial Cricket Championship here on Saturday. 

Electing to bat, DAV boys were all out for 172 runs in 47.2 overs even as Gurneet Singh and Yuvraj Rai added 90 runs for the opening wicket. Gurneet made a 66-ball 42, while Rai struck a sedate 41. Both the openers were dismissed by Aman. 

DAV, however, failed to capitalise on a decent start as they lost wickets in a heap and it was finally left to Arshad Dhiman (37 off 33 balls) to help the side reach 172 runs.    

Aman was the pick of the bowlers for Sector 16 Stadium, claiming 4/18. Vishal took 3/28, while Abhishek returned with figures of 2/26.

Defending a modest total, DAV bowlers struck in unison to bundle out Sector 16 Stadium for 140 runs in 44.2 overs. Jaskirat grabbed 3/28, while Dhiman picked 2/16. Kabir Kohli bagged 1/10. 

Yuvraj and Satyam contributed 30 runs each to the chase.
