Dr Sandhu takes over as city IRIA chief

CHANDIGARH:The head, Department of Radiodiagnosis and Imaging, PGI, Prof MS Sandhu, took over as the president of the Chandigarh Chapter of the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA) today.

The head, Department of Radiodiagnosis and Imaging, PGI, Prof MS Sandhu, took over as the president of the Chandigarh Chapter of the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA) today.

Prof Naveen Kalra took charge of the general secretary of the association. The goals of the association are to disseminate knowledge of radiology, facilitate learning by organising frequent conferences, CMEs and meetings, as well as provide guidance and support to radiology practitioners on important issues, including PC-PNDT Act amongst others.

Prof Sandhu was among the team, who was instrumental in carving out the Chandigarh chapter of radiology. The IRIA was set up in Kolkata in 1931 and currently has over 16,000 radiologist members. — TNS
