NCB destroys seized drugs

CHANDIGARH: The drug disposal committee of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Chandigarh, today disposed of the seized drugs, mainly heroin, opium, poppy husk and charas, at Rainbow Environments Private Ltd, Mohali.

The drug disposal committee of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Chandigarh, today disposed of the seized drugs, mainly heroin, opium, poppy husk and charas, at Rainbow Environments Private Ltd, Mohali.

About 20 kg of heroin, 5 kg poppy husk and 41 kg charas were physically verified before these were burnt in an incinerator.

Officials said 29.23 kg of opium would be deposited with Government Opium and Alkaloid Factories, Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh.

The drugs were seized in 27 cases registered by the NCB.
