Social Welfare Committee to visit Snehalaya

CHANDIGARH:The Social Welfare Committee of the UT Administration constituted under the chairmanship of former MP Satya Pal Jain shall visit Snehalaya, a shelter home for destitute and abandoned children, in Maloya on Sunday.

The Social Welfare Committee of the UT Administration constituted under the chairmanship of former MP Satya Pal Jain shall visit Snehalaya, a shelter home for destitute and abandoned children, in Maloya on Sunday.

Jain said at present, there were about 100 children in Snehalaya, who were being looked after by the Social Welfare Department of the UT Administration. 

Jain said the committee should study all aspects of the working of the shelter home during its visit to Snehalaya. Members of the panel would interact with children and staff there and would submit its report to the Administrator thereafter, he said.

All members of the committee, including special invitees, have been requested to visit the shelter home. 

Jain said the committee was constituted with a view to studying various projects being run by the Social Welfare Department.
