The mutilated body of a young girl was found from a railway track in Kurukshetra on Saturday  morning. She was identified as Ekta, a BA-I student. In another incident, the body of a youth was found near a railway track on Friday night. He was identified as Deepesh Kumar, a polytechnic student. — TNS

Undertrial dead

An undertrial died of a heart attack on Saturday. Gajraj was taken to a hospital in Fatehabad, where he died during treatment. He was being shifted from a Sirsa court to the Hisar jail when he suffered the heart attack. He was facing trial in a case under the Arms Act.  — TNS

Policeman robbed

A policeman was robbed in the wee hours on Saturday. Probationer SI Vinod Kumar was going towards his vehicle around 1 am when a Scorpio stopped near him. Four youths came out and one of them pointed a gun at him. They forced him in and took his wallet, two mobile phones and ATM card. They withdrew Rs 7,000 and dropped him. Two more robberies were reported on Friday night. — TNS

Swine flu alert

The health authorities in Tohana have been put on alert after a woman died during treatment on Thursday. Doctors in Hisar suspected that she died of swine flu even though her test report was awaited. The health authorities found 12 patients suffering from cough and put them on watch. — TNS
