Aerocity gets power connection

MOHALI: The allottees of plots at the upcoming housing project, Aerocity, heaved a sigh of relief as power connections have been given to the area.

Mohali, September 6

The allottees of plots at the upcoming housing project, Aerocity, heaved a sigh of relief as power connections have been given to the area.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be inaugurating the international airport on September 11 and the Mohali administration, which has been on its heels to complete several development works in the area before the D-day, has given power connection to the residential project here two days ago.

Earlier, in the absence of power connection, the allottees, who were constructing their houses in the area, were facing problems. “We had to hire generator sets to complete several jobs during the construction work. It was an extra burden on our pockets,” said Paramdeep Singh, a resident. Another resident said storing construction material at the site was also very risky due to darkness at night.

“With power connection being given to the area, it would witness rapid growth,” said Manpreet Singh, a resident of Mohali. Power connection has also been given to streetlights along the Airport Road, which is expected to become one of the busiest in the area after operations begin at the airport. — TNS
