City colleges are going to have 'paperless prospectus' with the launching of the facility to download forms online from this academic session.

During academic session 2016-17, forms of two private colleges and all six government colleges can be submitted online rather than purchasing the hard copy of the same and submitting these later on.

The private college, which is going to introduce the online submission of forms from this academic session, is DAV College. SD College had introduced this facility last year. For the past two years, forms of the six government colleges are being submitted online by students, but they also have to submit the hard copy to the colleges after downloading the same.

MCM DAV College for Women and Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College for Women, Sector 26, are providing the facility to download the forms from the website of the respective colleges, but students have to submit their hard copy to the colleges before the counselling date. The admission scheduled for Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Sector 26, is yet to be finalised.

SD College principal Bhushan K Sharma said this year, students would get all information related to prospectus and admission schedule, including the merit list, on the college website and no hard copy would be sold for the same.

Meanwhile, counselling for reserved category seats was conducted at the UBS on the second day today. Seven seats of the ST and Physically Handicapped category were not filled. The PU spokesperson said these seats would to be converted into general category and were likely to be filled soon.

Meeting held

Meanwhile, a meeting was convened by Dean College Development Council (DCDC) Prof Naval Kishore to discuss new guidelines.  The meeting was attended by principals and representatives of 192 affiliated colleges.

What is new in the guidelines of 2016-17
