Giving a lift to a girl proved costly to a Dadu Majra Colony resident who was robbed by two persons of his cash at knife point in Dadu Majra last night. The victim, along with the girl, had barely covered a few metres when two boys stopped his scooter and robbed him of Rs 6,000 at knife point.

The police have failed to trace the miscreants so far. They are carrying out raids at several places to arrest the robbers, police sources said.

According to information, the incident happened at 10 pm when Deepak was stopped by a girl near the Dadu Majra stadium. She asked him for a lift. When Deepak and the girl reached near a gurdwara at Dadu Majra, two boys made him stop his scooter.

They threatened him with a knife and robbed him of Rs 6,000. The miscreants then fled the spot.

Meanwhile, the police were informed. A police team from the Maloya police station reached the spot but they were clueless about the incident.

“We are checking the records of criminals involved in such incidents in the recent months. We are also raiding several places in Dadu Majra to get some clue. We are investigating the role of the girl in the incident,” said a police official.

Meanwhile, DSP Deepak Yadav and SHO of Maloya Ram Rattan did not answer the phone calls made by this correspondent.
