The mere mention of the word examination creates stress and anxiety for one and all.

As exams are approaching, students and parents alike are anxious to beat the examination stress smoothly.

To relieve a part of this stress, a local institute organised a special seminar to teach parents the kind of food to be given to children during exam and how to distress children.

More than 300 students and parents attended the seminar conducted at Edusquare in Dugri Phase 1.

Celebrity dietician Simrat Kathuria from ‘the Diet Xperts’ shared valuable tips regarding balanced diet, healthy snacking and importance of drinking water among other tips.

She said: “It has been observed that during exams, students are hooked to junk food and avoid drinking water. Actually, they should be doing the opposite. What happens by the end of exam is they carry a lot of flap. A balanced diet is undisputedly the key for a healthy body, especially for teenagers.”

She said it was best to much an apple during exams. Instead of Maggi students should prefer having an apple, she said. Besides, seasonal fruits should also be taken. She also stressed on the need to keep oneself hydrated.

Life coach Paarth Ashok Narang from ‘The Joy Clinic’ shared the importance of time-management, adequate sleep, staying upbeat and optimistic and to avoid distractions.

He said: “Understand that exam is not a battle, but an opportunity to reap the fruits of the year’s hard work.”

A student said: “I am feeling better after attending the seminar and guess am prepared for handling the exam stress. I will try to follow the tips shared by speakers.”

A parent said such seminars should be conducted more frequently for the benefit of students.

As soon as seminar ended, parents and students were seen asking questions from life coach Paarth Narang and dietician Simrat Kathuria.
