Rs 6.5 crore spent under MNREGA in Una: MLA

Chairman of the State Finance Commission and Chintpurni MLA Kuldip Kumar said today that Rs 6.5 crore had been spent during the current financial year to give 2.96 lakh man-day employment under the MNREGA in the district.

Presiding over a district-level review meeting of the Twenty Point Programme, he said the administration had set a target of constructing 221 houses under the Rajiv Gandhi housing scheme in rural areas of the district.

Kuldip Kumar said Rs 82.21 crore was being spent in different parts of the district under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna, while five habitations were provided with safe drinking water under the National Rural Drinking Water Programme this year.

He said 2.46 lakh saplings were planted this year over 246 hectares, He said around 3,000 families had constructed toilets at their homes. He asked the government officials to monitor the implementation of activities and works under the Twenty Point Programme.
