2 booked in murder case

Two persons have been booked for culpable homicide (not amounting to murder).

Two persons have been booked for culpable homicide (not amounting to murder). Ramesh Kumar of Dogarpur complained to the police his father died after having a scuffle with Jasdeep Singh of their village and another person. He alleged his father later had chest pain and died at the local civil hospital.

Cop dies in mishap

Head Constable Charanjit Singh died and Head Constable Bahadur Singh was injured when a speeding Tata-Indigo car hit their motor cycle near Dharamkot on Wednesday night. The car driver fled the spot. The policemen were on PCR duty. A case has been registered.

Pooja Rani was electrocuted at Bedi Nagar in Moga city on Wednesday. Pooja's kin have alleged that she was murdered by her husband Jimmi Dhamija. A case of murder has been registered against Jimmi.

1 held with fake currency

The Jaitu police have arrested Kulwant Singh with counterfeit notes having face value of Rs 2 lakh. The accused had 200 fake notes with face-value denomination of Rs 1,000 each. The police are probing the source of this fake currency and its circulation in the area.

1 killed, 39 hurt in accidents

A 68-year-old man was killed and 39, including 17 students, were injured in two road accidents due to fog in Hanumangarh, near Abohar. In the first accident, a Bathinda-Jaipur luxury bus collided head on with a truck loaded with stone metal near Hariyasar village on the Rawatsar-Sardarshehar mega highway. In another accident, a bus of Guru Hargobind  Public School and a Sangria-bound private bus collided on the Abohar-Hanumangarh road.
