Trouble seems to be in store for Chief Parliamentary Secretary (CPS) and Assandh MLA Bakhshish Singh Virk (in pic) with his name being mentioned in the FIR following suicide by a Haryana Agro inspector.

Subhash of Murthal in Sonepat district, who was an inspector with Haryana Agro, committed suicide in his hometown on May 21.

He was in charge of a godown and petrol pump in Ballah and a godown in Jundla village of Karnal district. He was accused in the case involving irregularities in Haryana Agro godowns.

FIRs had been registered in the Assandh and Karnal Sadar police stations. Virk’s name was not among the accused in the abetment to suicide case.

His name was mentioned in the FIR as Subhash’s wife reported that seven persons used to threaten her husband using the name of the Assandh MLA.

The Sonepat police had registered an FIR against seven persons—Gurjeet Singh, Somdutt, Ravidutt, Kuldeep, Sunil, Naresh Pal and Raj Kumar.

Subhash’s family submitted a supplementary statement to Sonepat SP Ashwin Shenvi, accusing Virk and his son of threatening Subhash. The SP constituted a SIT to inquire into the matter.

“We have constituted an SIT to find out the truth. Virk’s name is not among the accused, but his name is mentioned in the FIR as the family members allege that the seven accused used to threaten him using the name of the Virk,” said the SP.

“The family members have submitted a supplementary statement against Virk and his son and we are inquiring all angles and allegations. We will inquire from Karnal district to know the truth,” the SP added.

Meawhile, the CPS refuted the allegations. He offered his cooperation to the police. He expressed sympathy to the family. He said the department was inquiring irregularities in godowns.

“It is unfortunate and my sympathy is with the family. The Sonepat police have constituted an SIT and I am ready to face any inquiry. I am not involved in the case and all allegations are baseless,” he said.
