PANIPAT: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of the Panipat battle memorial through remote control during his visit to Kurukshetra.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of the Panipat battle memorial through remote control during his visit to Kurukshetra. The memorial will be established in Tau Devi Lal Park here.

The Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran will develop the project in six acres. The estimated cost of the memorial is Rs 44.5 crore and it will be completed in two years, said Deputy Commissioner Sumedha Kataria.

The memorial will include a state-of-the-art auditorium with a capacity of 1,000 persons, an amphitheatre and an eternal flame to commemorate the martyrdom of warriors in the battles of Panipat. TNS
