Dharamsala, December 13

Speaker Rajeev Bindal on Thursday appealed to members of the House against making a mockery of the prestigious institute. He said this after the Opposition and ruling legislators continued raising slogans against each other despite his frantic appeals to maintain order.

The Speaker refuted the allegation levelled by leaders of the Opposition that the agenda given by them was not being taken up in the House. The entire agenda was available with him in black and white. The agenda and discussions sought by the Opposition had been taken up. On the first day of the session, the discussion brought by Congress MLA Jagat Singh Negi was taken up.

It was the sole discussion taken up that day. Another discussion sought by CLP leader Mukesh Agnihotri has been listed for December 14. Regarding question number 796 that was removed from the Assembly site, the Speaker said it was removed as the matter was sub-judice.

Bindal said he had tried to accommodate everybody and the members should conduct themselves to maintain the dignity of the House. The Opposition walked out of the House for two days, alleging that their agenda was not being taken up.
