The open dumping of garbage at Sairi, close to the Jubbarhatti airport near Shimla, has become a nuisance for the residents of the area. Though there is a huge dustbin, on most occasions, it is overflowing, with dogs, monekys and stray cattle feeding on it. Either there should be some mechanism to remove the garbage dumped in it by the residents daily or the garbage dump must be removed as it is an open invitation to diseases. — Ranjit Sharma, Shimla
Pressure horns a nuisance
Private buses as well as trucks use pressure horns and this has become a cause of concern for the people in the industrial cluster of Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh. The transport authorities are supposed to check their use, but no campaign has been undertaken so far. Even the police have failed to act. There are more than 10,000 trucks and other commercial vehicles in the area and in the absence of any check, the use of such horns is going on unchecked. —Krishan Kumar, Baddi
Road in bad condition
A portion of the link road in ward number 1 of Una city is in bad shape. Residents want the path repaired, which at present, has loose gravel, making it difficult for two-wheeler riders and pedestrians to walk, particularly during the rainy season. The civic authorities need to address the issue at the earliest as it poses a risk to commuters. —Rohit Sharma, Una
Is a civic issue bothering you? Are you agitated over the lack of concern? Is there something heartening that you feel needs to be highlighted? Or a picture which in your opinion ought to be seen by many, and not just you?
