Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana, conducted a walkathon from School campus to Palli Morh to highlight the importance of saving water. The walkathon was flagged off by the Subdivisional Police Officer (SDPO) Bari Brahmana, Sunil Kesar and the MD of the school, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak. Around 500 children and staff walked to Palli Morh while raising slogans-"Save water Save Life", "Pani hai to Jeevan hai".The SDPO appreciated the efforts of the staff and students in spreading the vital message in the vicinity of the town. 

Programmes at Dewan Devi school

Dewan Devi Higher Secondary School in collaboration with "Career Abacus" organised a variety of programmes on the premises of the school. BJP leader Sat Sharma was the chief guest while Arvind Sharma, MD of Career Abacus, was the special guest. The function started with lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries on the occasion. Students presented colourful cultural items to enthrall the audience. Prizes and certificates were also distributed by abacus team to the winning students of the course.

Workshop concludes at JU 

A 2-day long workshop on "Latest trend and challenges in cyber security" which was organised by the Department of Computer Science and IT, University of Jammu (JU) concluded here. Prof Rahul Gupta was the chief guest during the inaugural ceremony and Prof Vinay Chouhan was the chief guest at the valedictory session. Dr Anup Girdhar, CEO and founder of Sedulity Solutions and Technologies, New Delhi, was the resource person for the workshop.

APS celebrates annual day

Army Public School, Damana, celebrated its annual day on the theme "Didactic renaissance: Revival of culture in academics". Brig KK Singh, chairman of the school, was the chief guest. The function began with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the chief guest and principal of the school. Principal, Pushpinder Kaur read out the annual report of the school highlighting the academic achievements and all round development of the school. The Principal also focused on the academic achievements, excellence in co-curricular activities, inter-school competitions and sports. Later, the chief guest gave away the prizes to the meritorious students and achievers. The chief guest also released the annual school magazine "Prairna".

Short trek for students

Continuing its thrust to promote short treks for school students in the Surinsar-Mansar-Mohore Garh area during winter months, Tawi Trekkers, J&K, organised the 5th Adventure Picnic for 85 tiny tots of JK Montessorie Senior Secondary School, Talab Tillo. Sanjiv Gupta, managing director and Rajni Gupta, academic director of the school, also visited the camp and encouraged students. Sonam Sidharth, a senior member of the club, the was overall in-charge of the group who was assisted by Manik Slathia, Arif Mohamad, Abhimanyu Sherpa, Sahil Khajuria and teachers of the school.

Armed Forces Flag Day celebrations

NCC Units of Government Degree College (GDC), Kathua, 2nd J&K Battalion, 01 J&K, Armed Squadron and NCC Naval Wing, celebrated Armed Forces Flag Day. The programme was organised under the guidance and supervision of senior Professor PK Rao and Prof Sumanesh. After this, as part of Swachhta Pakhwada, the cadets collected stones, polythene, wrappers and other waste lying on the ground. ANO Girls Wing Dr Rachna Devi and ANO Armed Wing Dr Verinder Singh addressed the cadets and exhorted them to keep their premises clean.
