Only three days after the brutal murder of a security guard of an eatery, Radhey Radhey, near Khajurala village on the national highway, around five unidentified armed and masked miscreants entered Pyramid College near Mehatan village on the national highways and attacked its security guard Sukhwinder Singh in the wee hours of Monday. He was seriously injured.
Superintendent of Police Mandeep Singh rushed to the spot after getting information. He said the injured security guard was first admitted to the local Civil Hospital but later shifted to Jalandhar. The miscreants attacked the guard with iron rods, who tried to stop them, and entered the premises. They ransacked a few rooms of the college, including its office, and took away Rs 45,000 in cash.
On a complaint lodged by college principal Satish Behal, the police have registered a case under Section 459,IPC.
SP Mandeep Singh said dog squads and finger print experts had been called and the police had scanned CCTVs camera footage also to identify the miscreants.
