JALANDHAR: Akashwani Jalandhar will organise a musical extravaganza ‘Basant Utsav 2018’ on February 22 and 23.

Akashwani Jalandhar will organise a musical extravaganza ‘Basant Utsav 2018’ on February 22 and 23. Eminent personalities from the field of music and poetry will participate in the convention.

Divulging the details, head Santosh Rishi, said a ‘Trilingual Kavi Sammellan’ would be organised at Akashwani Jalandhar on February 22 and a musical evening would be held at Red Cross Bhawan on February 23.

She said poets of Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu including Padamshree Surjit Patar, Sukhwinder Amrit, Darshan Buttar, Vijay Vivek, Ajit Pal, Maadhav Kaushik, Mohan Sapra, Simar Sadosh, Kusum Khushboo, Mehak Bharati, Zafar Ahmad Zafar, Zamir Ali Zamir, and Ajmal Khan Sherwani would participate in the event.

Rishi said singers Hans Raj Hans, Dolly Gulleria, Nirmal Sidhu and Kanth Kaler would regale the audience during the ‘Surmai Shaam’.

On the second day Assistant Station Director, AIR, Jalandhar, RK Vohra (retd) would be honoured for his contribution to ‘Akashwani’. Lyricist Hardev Singh Dilgir would also be felicitated on the occasion. Students of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya will also present cultural items, she added.
