NSPS boys recreate working model of Mangalyaan-2

Senior students of Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park, have brought laurels to the school by winning first prize for their scientific model displayed at the Science Carnival 2019, organised by Takshila at Delhi Public School, Ludhiana. 

Kanwar Amitoj Singh Waraich and Jaskaran Singh, students of Class XII science stream, had prepared a working model of Mangalyaan-2 under the guidance of their science teacher, Kamaljeet Kaur. In the week long effort, both students used their creativity and scientific aptitude and came up with a model of Mangalyaan-2. 

Sharing this achievement, Kanwar Amitoj Singh Waraich said: “We used cardboards, pipes, used syringes, wires and gift wrapping paper to make the model. We spent about Rs 500 on it. The aim behind this model was to propose a way to land a man on the soil of Mars. We have given a new way of landing on any celestial body as well as a new way to bring back the orbiter as it will reduce the space junk which is increasing at very high rate.”

Talking about other features of the model, Jaskaran: “It can also be reused after some changes or repairs. This project is very cost effective. Implementation of this project will make India the Samraat of the world’s space programme.”
