The State Bank of India (SBI) conducted a discussion session within the jurisdiction of Regional Business Office (RBO) I & II of Ludhiana Module to generate ideas and review bank performance aligned with national priorities. The first-of-its-kind discussion, which happened on August 17 and 18, was an effort in designing the first stage of the bottom-up consultative process of the bank.

The discussion sessions were inaugurated by Pranay Ranjan Dwivedi, DGM, AO, Ludhiana Module, in the presence of Gurpreet Kaur (RM -RBO I) and several others. The primary objective of this meeting was to identify and finalise ways and means to increase credit to various sectors of the economy, enhance use of technology to bring about innovation and enable big data analytics and make banking citizen-centric as well as more responsive to the needs and aspiration of senior citizens, farmers, small industries, enterprises, youth, students and women.

In another programme, taking forward the agenda of reforms in the Public Sector Banks, the Department of Financial Services has initiated a multi-level consultation process and ideation starting from the branch level. This consultative meeting of Indian Bank was proposed to generate innovative ideas and out-of-box thinking on various banking related issues so that the banking sector effectively participates in taking the nation to a $5 trillion economy.
